There are also weekly Antiques & Collectors Markets in Retford and Newark as well as other specialist markets in the region, and there are very popular Farmer's Markets to enjoy each month in Mansfield, Newark and Retford.

RETFORD Markets

The historic market town of Retford was granted its first charter (the right to hold a fair) by King Henry III in 1246 and this was extended in 1275 by King Edward I to allow a Saturday Market, a tradition that continues today.

The very popular open-air market is held in the market square each Thursday and Saturday against the backdrop of fine Georgian buildings.  On Fridays, browsers can seek out bargains at the Antique and Collectors Market.

On the third Saturday of each month, Retford hosts a popular Farmers’ Market where a variety of locally grown produce including fruit and vegetables, jams, meat, honey, ice creams, dairy produce and freshly prepared food and drink is on sale.

Retford’s popular weekly markets offer a good variety of stalls catering for everyone with the freshest of produce – fruit & vegetables, quality meat, fish and flowers - plus cards, sweets, clothing, shoes, household goods and lots more.  No wonder people come from miles around to visit!

WORKSOP Markets
