The exhibition by Artist and Art Teacher Annie Turner will be held at The Hub, Cannon Square Retford and will continue from the 10th August to the 14th September. The  Preview is on Friday, the 9th of August at 7 pm and all are welcome to view, Drinks and snacks will be provided.

The purpose of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the habitat destruction which is being addressed by the building of Corridors of natural jungle plants and trees to feed the animals and help them to navigate 100's of kilometers of oil palm plantations where there is no food for them. 20%of profits will go to The Borneo Rhino Alliance who buy tracts of land through their charity for this purpose.

The artwork is free, expressive and the media is soft pastel on paper and canvass. The aim is to depict a revealing and compassionate insight into the characteristics of the different jungle dwelling animals. These images have been achieved, non invasively usiing powerful lenses and the shots are often taken at night.. The photographers are eco tour guides and they themselves have a care and passion for the animals in their care. They have been translated into artworks by Annie in a loose but expressive use of media.

"They have given me free range to use their photographs for the purpose of my exhibition, for which I am very honoured."

I hope to provide a great insight into this wonderful North Borneo Jungle life which affected me deeply. We have many terrible issues in our own country but to explain my concerns about Asian Jungles - If the jungles of Asia are not sustainable, then the whole world will be unsustainable. they could be described as the Lungs of the World.

At least, I wish everyone a very enjoyable and interesting experience and a sharing of the animals I am priviledged to have seen in their natural habitat.
