COSTA DEL NOTTINGHAMSHIRE?...

Have you given up the idea of going abroad for your holidays this year?  OK, we might not get the sizzling temperatures of Spain and the south of France (apart from today!) but staying in the UK does sound a much simpler and hassle-free option.  Perhaps it's time we discovered, or reminded ourselves, just how wonderful Great Britain really is!  Visit England have plenty of ideas to inspire!

Why not make it a staycation and enjoy fun days out in our very own, beautiful Nottinghamshire, or explore our neighbouring regions of LincolnshireDerbyshire and South Yorkshire?  They all have lots of exciting things to do within an hour’s drive or less from home and UK businesses really could do with our support.

Even closer to home we have loads of wonderful local attractions, country parks & abundant open spaces to enjoy.  Most have reopened and facilities such as cafes or takeaway food outlets, as well as toilets, are available again.

Let's show some huge love and support for all our local attractions and places, our eateries and our hospitality & tourism businesses!

WAITING TO WELCOME YOU IN NORTH NOTTS…

We're delighted that some of our favourite places are re-opening again this coming Saturday 1st August...

The fabulous Harley Gallery and The Portland Collection, both with brand new exhibitions and free to visit. Open daily except Mondays from 1st August.

Whilst you're there why not pop into The Harley Café which offers delicious takeaway food as well as table service... and you won't want to miss the lovely Welbeck Farm Shop!

Close by to the Welbeck Estate is the fantastic Creswell Crags Museum and Prehistoric Gorge which also fully reopens on 1st August with ticketed entry to the Museum (a brilliant place for children!).  Outdoor spaces are already accessible and on Saturday the car park and the café, offering food & drink to take away or to enjoy in the outdoor seating area, reopen too.

OUR LIBRARIES ARE OPEN!

Hurrah! Most of our libraries have now reopened… but with reduced facilities and opening hours so do please check your local library before visiting.

The last few libraries are opening in August at Lowdham, Tuxford, Misterton, Rainworth and Retford (following it’s refurbishment).  Use this link to find out your local library’s opening times and facilities.

'WE'RE GOOD TO GO' SCHEME - YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND

If you’re still cautious about visiting new places during these unsettling times, you may find it helpful to look out for the ‘We’re Good to Go’ sign on premises, websites and social pages, etc.

To have received Visit England’s/Visit Britain’s ‘stamp of approval’ businesses and organisations must demonstrate that they are adhering to the government and public health guidance and have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment and put extra hygiene and safety processes into place to protect customers and staff. It’s a great step forward in giving us more confidence to go out and about and enjoy ourselves.

See our list of North Notts Organisations who have received their ‘We’re Good to Go’ certificate, which we’re constantly updating.

'EAT OUT TO HELP OUT' SCHEME

We all know how especially important it is to support our local businesses at this time and the government’s new Eat Out to Help Out initiative to help restaurants, cafes, pubs and other eateries looks like a winning idea for everyone!

From next Monday, 4th August and on every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday during August we can eat out and get a fantastic 50% off our meals or snacks and non-alcoholic drinks up to a maximum of £10 each per meal!  And we can do it as many times as we like and enjoy that huge discount!

You can find all the participating North Notts eateries in your local area here.
